Practical solutions and recommendations for the therapy/treatment of dentin hypersensitivity.
This document (hereinafter: the Regulations) contains the full, exclusive and binding rules of the student project competition entitled “Practical solutions and recommendations for the therapy/treatment of dentin hypersensitivity” (hereinafter: the Competition), organized by COLGATE - PALMOLIVE Magyarország Kft. (hereinafter: the Organizer) in cooperation with Communication Concept Kft. (hereinafter: the Administrator). Any excerpts appearing in the promotional materials of the Competition are for informational purposes only and do not constitute legally binding Regulations.
1.1 The purpose of the Competition is to support talented dental students by enabling them to present innovative and practical solutions related to the issue of dentin hypersensitivity.
2.1 The Organizer of the Competition is COLGATE - PALMOLIVE Magyarország Kft., registered office: 1119 Budapest, Fehérvári út 97-99., 6th floor; company registration number: 01 09 268159 (hereinafter: Organizer).
2.2 The Administrator of the Competition is Communication Concept Kft., registered office: 1026 Budapest, Érmelléki utca 13., company registration number: 01 09 727771 (hereinafter: Administrator).
3.1 Unless otherwise specified by the Organizer, the Competition runs from 2 March 2026. Application forms must be submitted to the Organizer by 10 April 2026, and student projects must be sent no later than 10 May 2026. The Organizer will notify the winners by e‑mail no later than 30 June 2026 and may publish the winners’ names on its website or social media platforms.
3.2 The Organizer provides the following prizes in the Competition:
(i) First‑place team: HUF 500,000 (five hundred thousand forints)
(ii) Second‑place team: HUF 300,000 (three hundred thousand forints)
(iii) Third‑place team: HUF 200,000 (two hundred thousand forints)
The Administrator will transfer these prizes to the bank account of the team member designated by the team within 2 weeks after the announcement of the winners.
3.3 In addition, the first‑place team will have the opportunity to participate in the regional round of the Competition together with other winning projects from the Central and Eastern European (CEE) region. The regional round is governed by separate regulations, which will be provided to the winning team at a later date. Participation in the regional round requires the project to be translated into English (translation costs are borne by the winner).
4.1 The Competition is open to dental students studying at universities in Hungary — in 2026, the Faculty of Dentistry of Semmelweis University (Budapest) and the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Pécs. At both universities, mentors support the teams in preparing their projects.

4.2 Teams of 2 or maximum 3 students may participate, under the guidance of one mentor. A participant may only be a member of one team. Each team may submit only one project. A mentor may support the work of multiple teams.
4.3 Participants must familiarize themselves with these Regulations and comply with their provisions. Submission of the application form and the student project constitutes acceptance of the Regulations by all team members.
4.4 Participation requires the proper completion of the Competition application form (see Annex 1), and the submission of the signed and scanned application form and the project to the Organizer no later than 10 May 2026 to the following e‑mail address: info@edu4students.hu. If the data size exceeds the maximum e‑mail limit, the project must be shared with the Organizer via Google Drive.
4.5 The application form must be submitted by a designated representative of the team. The form must include the name of the university, the names of all team members, the contact details of the representative, the name of the mentor and the mentor’s e‑mail address.
4.6 Incomplete, formally incorrect, or late applications will not be considered by the Organizer.
5.1 The topic of the Competition: “Practical solutions and recommendations for the therapy/treatment of dentin hypersensitivity.” Participating teams must select a clinical case related to dentin hypersensitivity, record the anamnesis, prepare a treatment plan, and conduct follow‑up (recall).
5.2 The project may be submitted in one of the following formats: (i) presentation (max. 15 slides); (ii) essay (max. 4 A4 pages, Arial 12 font size); or (iii) video (max. 10 minutes).
5.3 Regardless of the chosen format, photo documentation — intraoral images — must be attached electronically as a separate annex. Requirements for the photos:
(i) suitable for large‑format printing (min. 2480×3508 px, 300 dpi);
(ii) must be produced in electronic format;
(iii) the file name must include the date and the author’s surname and first name in the following format: “day.month.year AuthorSurname photo no._[number]” (e.g., 4.03.2025_Kovács_photo no._1).
5.4 The student projects will be evaluated by a three‑member professional jury appointed by the Organizer. Members of the jury:

Chair: Dr. Eszter Molnár, Assistant Professor, Specialist – Semmelweis University
The evaluation criteria include: (i) originality of the project and approach; (ii) innovative attitude toward the topic; (iii) level of detail and scope; (iv) practical applicability; (v) professional and technical accuracy; (vi) educational value; (vii) comprehensive presentation of issues related to dentin hypersensitivity. The project must include appropriate source references, and the author of any third‑party element must be indicated.
5.5 The jury will select the 3 projects that best meet the above criteria and determine their ranking. In the event of a tie, the chair of the jury will decide after consultation with the Organizer.
5.6 The Organizer/Administrator will announce the winners no later than 30 June 2026 and will notify the winning teams by e‑mail. The results will be published on the edu4students.hu website or on social media platforms operated by the Administrator.
5.7 The national first‑place winner undertakes to translate the project into English within 1–2 days after the final announcement of results, or — in the case of a video project — to provide English subtitles, and to submit it electronically to the Organizer.
6.1 Participants acknowledge that the subject of the Competition is the preparation of a student project, not a clinical or other professional study. By participating, they declare and confirm that they have not violated and will not violate professional ethical rules or any professional, academic, or legal requirements applicable to them.
6.2 If third parties (e.g., individuals suffering from hypersensitivity) are involved in the project, participants declare and confirm that such persons were properly informed about the ongoing student project and consented to participation. If photo documentation of such persons was created for the project, participants declare and confirm that they obtained consent for the creation and use of such photos for the purposes of the project and the Competition.
6.3 By participating, participants declare and confirm that the project and all its elements (i) do not infringe the copyrights or other protected rights of third parties, including intellectual property rights; and (ii) do not violate any laws, regulations, or official requirements.
6.4 Participants declare and confirm that they are liable to the Organizer for any damage arising from claims by third parties resulting from inaccurate or false statements made by the participants in connection with the Competition.
7.1 By submitting the project to the Competition, participants grant the Organizer a free, unlimited, perpetual, and worldwide license to use the project and its parts, including any copyrighted or audiovisual works (such as recordings and photos), for educational and marketing purposes, as well as for promoting the Competition and supporting scientific activities, including publication in media, promotional materials, on the Organizer’s website, and on the Organizer’s social media platforms.
7.2 Participants also consent to the creation of photo and audiovisual documentation of the award ceremony — including recordings of the winners — and to the electronic processing, reproduction, and publication of such materials, including online and on social media, as well as their digital archiving. Participants consent to the publication of their names and university names in the event of winning the Competition.
8.1 By participating in the Competition, participants consent to the Organizer and the Administrator — as data controllers under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable data protection laws — processing their personal data (name, e‑mail address, phone number, university; hereinafter: Personal Data) for 36 months from the date of consent, particularly for the collection, storage, organization, and retention of data for the purpose of organizing and conducting the Competition.
8.2 By participating, participants confirm that they have reviewed the Colgate-Palmolive privacy policy and their GDPR rights on www.edu4students.hu, including the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, withdrawal of consent at any time, and the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority (Office for the Protection of Personal Data). Participants consent to the publication of their names and university names in the event of winning.
9.1 The Organizer may modify the Regulations or cancel the Competition at any time, even before the end of the Competition period, without justification or compensation. The Organizer may cancel the Competition if fraudulent behavior is suspected by any participant or winner. Decisions and amendments will be published at www.edu4students.hu.
9.2 Only the version of the Regulations published at www.edu4students.hu is authoritative and binding.
9.3 Claims for prizes cannot be enforced in court. Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash.
9.4 Participation in the Competition is voluntary. By participating, the participant declares acceptance of these Regulations. The Organizer reserves the right to exclude any participant who violates any provision of the Regulations.
9.6 If the Regulations or excerpts thereof are published on Facebook or Instagram, the Organizer informs participants that the Competition is not sponsored, supported, or administered by Facebook in any way, nor is it associated with Facebook.
